We provide evidence based assessment and intervention for people with speech disorders, due to stroke, brain injury, disability and degenerative conditions.

Speech disorders can affect different muscle systems including: 

• Respiration (breathing and air flow) 

• Phonation (making sounds) 

• Articulation (clarity of pronunciation) 

• Resonance (quality of sound based on air flow location) 

• Prosody (rhythm and intonation of speech) 

Symptoms of a speech disorder may include: 

• Errors producing longer words or phrases 

• Difficulty saying specific sounds 

• Groping to put mouth muscles in the right spot 

• Slow speech

We offer individual therapy plans that may include: 

• Comprehensive assessment

• Treatment program to improve control and use of speech muscles for communication

• Strategies to improve successful communication and improved participation in conversation
